Landruk Trek

“Where Next?”

Pokhara is beautiful not just because of what’s inside, but also because of all the Places surrounding Pokhara. I would recommend a place that follows few kilometres away from the center, following the Baglung Highway.

If you are in Pokhara for a short period of time and can’t resist exploring around, “Trip to Landruk” is an ideal one for you. It offers you the best view of Annapurna range, sunrise and sunset, traditional Gurung culture, and on top of all that, a peace of mind, away from the city hustle bustle.  The best part about this trip; it takes only 48 hours of your life to gain a memory of a lifetime. With Mardi Himal and Ghandruk nearby, other trails are very likely to make you cling into the place.

The Trip kick-starts with short drive to Phedi from Pokhara which takes about an hour. Another hour of steep climbing is followed by less steep walk through the forest and the stone paved stairs until you reach the top of ridge. Continue walking for another 30 minutes and you step into a dirt road. Nobody’s road is paved perfectly, the dirt road leads you to a magnificent scenery.

Dhampus village is the first village to welcome you with Annapurna, Machhapuchhre (Mt. Fishtail) along with the Dhaulagiri range. You can call it a day , stay in Dhampus , roam around, enjoy the hospitality Gurung community has to offer or you can continue your walk(trek) up to Australian Base Camp or Pothana and rest your boots for the day.

Next morning, first thing you’ll witness is golden beams of light on your face; the best Sunrise with the backdrop of Annapurna range. The walk to Landruk continues with Rhododendron forest,  Mardi Khola bouncing down the hills and the panoramic views of Annapurna Range until you reach Deurali.

From Deurali, you can either continue your walk to Landruk or follow the trail to Mardi Himal. After walking for hardly two to three hours from Deurali, you reach Landruk. You can enjoy scenic Annapurna Range with traditional Gurung Community  and Tradition. Away from honk honk of the city, the time spent in Landruk is sure to be one of your most loved memories.

You can either make your trip longer by continuing trip to Ghandruk or jump into a jeep from Landruk concluding your two days trip. And, the Best Part, it is pretty affordable, Rs 2000 per day would be more than enough for you .
